I've switched this site from Wordpress to Drupal for a couple of reasons.
- I want to get into Drupal more and explore what it can do.
- I have about 4 domains to administer - one currently on Drupal and 3 on Wordpress. I want to combine them all into using a multi-site install of Drupal.
- I'm bored with Wordpress and want to learn something new :-)
Thw switch from Wordpress was pretty straightforward as I've already done it once on one of my other domains. The Wordpress Import module just imports the extended RSS file to pull in the entries. Then it was just a case of setting up all the URL aliases in Drupal to ensure the blog entry URLs remained the same as they used to.
I've consciously set up Drupal so it's ready for multi-site usage when I pull my other domains into this codebase - this'll save me a bit of time with new versions of Drupal and all the associated modules I use.
The formatting on the existing blog entries has got a bit mangled at the moment but I'll sort that out later today - if anyone spots any other problems then please let me know.
